looking good

My cute smiley baby!
Colin and dad playing video games
Colin sporting his new baby legs from Grandma Larkin. They are great for when they start moving around on the floor so they don't get carpet burn. They are also nice because unlike pants, you don't have to take them off for diaper changes. As you can see Colin loves them :)
Colin looking good in his new hat. It was beautiful today and sunny so we had to wear a hat. Super cute!

the flirt

We are still going for our walks as often as possible. We usually get stopped by someone to talk about Colin or Tracker! colin stays pretty warm in his camo fleece from Aunt Mary and Uncle Brad. We were out the other day and the neighbors wanted to see Colin. The neighbors are two blonde women. As soon as Colin spotted them, he started smiling and flirting. When we got back to the house Brian said "Good Boy" and I said what did he do? Brian said he saw blondes and started flirting. haha He is starting pretty young.
He totally looks mad in this picture but I promise, he isn't! He was smiling up a storm so I got the camera out aand this is what I captured. haha Colin is really starting to interact with you when you talk to him. He loves it when you make funny noises. He turned 8 weeks this weekend. I can not believe how fast time is going. Thank goodness I have spring break next week and can spend lots of time with him. I can't wait until summer and three long months with my baby!
This was colin right before we went to visit the Easter Bunny. He didn't even scream when the bunny was holding him. I will have to see if I can scan the picture so I can post it on here! We are looking forward to Easter since Colin will be meeting many of his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
This is Colin and Brian's new trick. I screamed the first time I saw it and then made them do it again so I could get a picture :) Colin went to his first hockey game this weekend. Brian's team played in the afternoon so we took Colin with. He actually looked like he was watching it. He must have liked all the colors flying by. I took him into the "bar" (not a real bar but its what everyone calls it) to feed him. He spit up a little and some of the hockey players told him not to worry about. He wasn't the first to throw up in a bar. He got to wear his hockey skates again. Everyone loved them of course.

sorry

sorry about the lack of posts.  Working full time and having a baby takes up a lot of time!! I plan on adding some pictures very soon.

a happy chubby baby

Happy St. Patrick's Day, one day late! Colin rocked his new bib and green cloth diaper.. very irish :)
A friend actually bought him a st. patrick's day outfit that I saved until St. patrick's day just to find out it was a newborn size and he didnt fit in it anymore:( I put this outfit together on the fly! love the bib though. it has his name. I love anything with his name on it haha look at that chin!!
Colin was in a very good mood tonight and I caught some smiles with the camera. Enjoy!

picture catch up

Since its been awhile since I posted any pictures I decided to post a lot! We had a mini photo shoot tonight :) the first one I love. You can really see his blue eyes and the binki is so funny. if you can't tell its says kiss me I'm Irish! It was a gift from his great grandma and great aunts. Perfect for us since we are a very Irish family. Then of course a picture of the best buddies. They were both laying on Brian' s lap. Tracker at one point even laid his head on Colin's lap. it was very cute!
Colin's grandma bought him this shirt in Ireland. Since tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, i thought it was a perfect time to break it out. I think he looks great in it! I tried for about 10 minutes to get a picture of him smiling but of course he wouldn't. He did smile as soon as I put the camera away. He is stubborn. Yesterday was my first day back to work and as soon I picked Colin up when I got home, He gave me the biggest smile and kept smiling like that for a couple of minutes. Talk about the best feeling in the world! It was almost worth it to have to go to work to see him smile at me like that!

Another shot of the buddies hanging out together. Brian has finals this week and today he only had one in the afternoon. When i left for work he was still in bed. next to him were Colin and Tracker. All three were snuggled together on one side of the bed. I was very jealous!

I don't know if you can tell but colin is smiling. Brian sat him up like this right next to tracker and tracker was giving him kisses. Colin thought it was great!
Colin in his camo! Trying to be like dad!

Back to work

Today was my first day back to work :( It was not easy and I think I cried about 4 times trying to leave the house and when I got to work.  It did help that my students were really excited for me to be back.  It did not help that my students did not get all of the material that I left for them and we have testing next week.  Its going to be a stressful week at school trying to catch them up but I refuse to stay late and will be leaving at exactly 3:15 everyday so I can get home to my baby!!I have been kind of behind with pictures but promise to add some very soon. We are looking forward to St. Patrick's Day! Lots of fun stuff for us to wear!

best friends

colin and tracker are slowly becoming buddies! Yesterday I put Colin on my bed while I went to brush my teeth. Tracker was also on the bed and instead of jumping off the second I put colin down like he usually does, Tracker stayed on the bed! I went to grab my tooth brush and colin started crying so I ran back to the room. I found Tracker right next to Colin trying to lick his face to calm him down :) What a good puppy! Colin stopped crying before I made it to the bed. I was telling Brian about this last night so we put them on the bed together again and this is the picture we got!!
Tracker, Colin, and I went for a walk by ourselves yesterday! Colin slept for most of the time but Tracker stayed right next to the stroller the entire time. He also tried to pee on every tree, stump, and bush we passed. He was trying to show those other dogs who is boss and not to mess with us!!
This last picture is pretty funny. This is Tracker's front paw. Brian wanted to see the comparison with Colins head and as you can see, Trackers paw is bigger!!

Tummy time!

Colin is really starting to enjoy tummy time! We usually start on his back because he likes to kick and make the toys swing. I taught him this the other day and now he just lays down there and kicks like crazy! so cute!!
We try to do tummy time a couple times a day for at least 10 minutes at a time. He is really starting to pick up his head and look around. He really loves to do tummy time on Brian or I's chest. I think he likes to look at us :)
I finally caught a smile with the camera!! Colin loves to be sung to and this is what we were doing and I had the camera ready hoping I would get a smile!! As you can see, He is feeling much better today!

not feeling good :(

Colin isn't feeling too good today. He seems to be spitting up a lot and crying. We are trying to take it easy so hopefully he will start feeling better. Its so sad to see them cry like that. He is sleeping right now so maybe he will be in a better mood when he wakes up! Colin has discovered the mirror in his bedroom :) He likes to look at himself and me while he is getting changed. Brian noticed this after their night together on Saturday! It is so funny to watch him smile at himself.

I was trying to get a close up picture so you guys could see how blue his eyes are getting! I was kind of hoping that he would have brown eyes but I really don't think thats going to happen. They seem to be getting lighter and lighter!

Colin is in cloth!!

Our family went on our first walk together. We have a half mile track behind our house and we have always taken Tracker out there as often as possible. It has been way too cold to take Colin out but this weekend it got up to 50 degrees!! It was really nice to get out and to get Colin out even though he slept the ENTIRE time. He falls asleep as soon as you put him in his car seat :) We are hoping it stays nice outside (even though we know it won't) so we can go on walks more often. Tracker kept sticking his nose in the stroller making sure Colin was ok. What a good puppy!

I knew before Colin was born that I was going to use cloth diapers with him. They are so much better for his skin, we can save tons of money (families spend an average of 3500 dollars per child on diapers) and we are helping the environment :) I didnt get any of the newborn sized diapers and never learned how to fold the prefold diapers, so until now we have had to use disposables. We were down to our last 2 today and I really didnt want to have to buy anymore so I tried one of the cloth on and it fit!! It is a little big but wearable! I am so excited and he looks so cute! People don't know this but cloth diapers are so easy and super cute. You can buy covers in all kinds of fun colors and designs instead of the boring white that disposables are. We also hit another milestone! colin is wearing 0-3 size clothing!! It is totally because of the new diapers but that is fine! I'm ready to pack up the newborns. I'm a little sad but I have to say I love seeing his personality come out as he gets olders and seeing all of his smiles so I'm ready to back the newborn stage up!

Brian and Colin spent their first night alone together last night. Brian's sister Kelly is getting married in April and she came home for her bachelorette party and met them out for awhile. I was gone for 7 hours!! It was not easy for me but the boys did pretty well. I came home at 10:30 to find them both passed out on the couch!

We met TommyHawk!

Colin got to meet Tommy Hawk from the Chicago Blackhawks today!! This is very exciting since we are big fans here! I wanted him to wear one of his Blackhawks outfits but of course he is still way too small to wear any of those! We had to settle with the bib and the skates but I think he looked super cute! As you can see he was very excited!!

My school was celebrating Dr. Seuss week and they invited Tommy to come and read so that is where we met him! So Colin also got to see where Mommy works and meet all of her students and work friends. He was a very good boy! He didn't cry stayed awake almost the whole 2 hours we were there!! My students thought he was the greatest thing ever and two of my boys ran over and grabbed his hand and started rubbing it. These are the two wildest kids in my class and it was fun to see how gentle they were with him. I was told many times by the kids that my baby was pretty :) They kept asking if I could come back right now haha. Tommy was a little nervous to hold Colin and you can barely see him with all the feathers but the picture turned out cute!
Sorry this one is crooked. I'm to o lazy to fix it but I'm sure Colin will love this one when he gets a little older! Tonight is our first time to go out to eat! Update tomorrow!!

night time at our house

This is one of our favorites! I know it looks like Tracker is about to eat Colin but really he was just yawning :) They actually sat like this for awhile. It was pretty cute! Like I said before Tracker has moments that he really likes Colin. Notice Colin is NOT crying in this photo! That could be the reason we were able to get this picture! Hopefully they will become good friends!

If you came to our house around 9:30 at night on most nights this is what you would see. Brian has the magic touch to get Colin to sleep and usually falls asleep himself in the process! This is one of my favorite times of the day for several reasons. I know I get to go to sleep very soon and I love seeing my boys together!! Last night was a pretty good night. Colin fell asleep around 9:30pm and slept until 2:30am. 5 hours!! After a diaper change and eating he fell back to sleep until six. He is getting on a pretty good schedule during the day and I hope sleeping through the night is not too far behind! I don't think I will be a very happy first grade teacher if I still have to get up in the middle of the night!

pictures!

Hi everyone!

Everyone keeps asking about Colin and I thought this would be the easiest way to do it! I plan on getting on here as much as possible with updates and pictures so everyone can see how our little man is growing! Colin was born January 30th 2010 at 10:37 am. He was 5lbs 15oz and 19 1/2 in long. He had a little jaundice but that quickly went away. We spent 4 days in the hospital due to my c section. We have been home for a little over a month and it has been awesome!! We are pretty tired but happy! Colin is growing so much even though after almost 5 weeks he is still wearing newborn size clothes. He is starting to use his arms to hold himself up during tummy time and is slowly sleeping longer and longer at night! He is also holding his head up and smiling at mom and dad when we pick him up. My favorite might be how he laughs in his sleep! Tracker (our 100lb rhodesian ridgeback puppy) has days or I should say moments where he loves Colin and others where he does not want him anywhere near him :) I think the crying is driving him nuts. I plan on getting back on later today to add some pictures!! Bye for now!
